The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Skills, Careers and Employment is partnering with the Career Development Policy Group (CDPG) on a parliamentary roundtable event to explore the proposal of a “Career Guidance Guarantee” for England. The event will take place on 18th July and is open to the public either face-to-face or online. You can book to attend on Eventbright.

At the event we will be launching new research which explores the costs of the current career guidance system and compares this to spending under previous governments. We will also be looking at what a future (better) career guidance system would look like and what it would cost. We will also explore the return on investment from public spending on career guidance.

As well as launching this new report we will also be arguing at this event that access to high-quality, lifelong career guidance is crucial in an economy where it is becoming increasingly common to change career paths. Politicians need to focus on developing a career guidance system that is fit for purpose rather than on maintaining the current fragmented and under-resourced system.
