5 Best Coffee Shops In Nashville For Remote Workers

Remote work is here to stay.

With more than 4.7 million people working remotely at least half the time in the United States, travel becomes much easier. And the questions shifts from whether travel is possible to where to go next. And some cities are better for remote work than others. One top 10 place for remote work, according to USA Today, is Nashville, Tennessee. Tennessee has the lowest effective tax rate in the continental United States, broadband access of 82.4% and a home price appreciation of 11.3%.

Not only that but Nashville is the birthplace of country music. It's also the place to go for any type of music! And the spring is a great time to be in Nashville. Walk the halls of the Ryman Auditorium, once the Grand Ole Opry, and you'll likely find a picture of the man in black wearing all white. Yep, Johnny Cash in white!

While music takes center stage in Nashville, there's still plenty to do. The hiking in and around Nashville is amazingly beautiful and abound with waterfalls, river walks, and they're almost all dog friendly.

So, if you’re a remote worker with an itch for a road trip, consider Nashville. While you're there, try one of these coffee hot spots. Whether you want to meet a new client for a drink or dive into a state of deep work, here is are the top spots I found to get some work done.

1. Steadfast in Germantown

Food: Seasonal menus with healthy breakfast and lunch options

Coffee: Innovative specialty drinks

Vibe: A+ for a social working space

WiFi: Yes

Steadfast is a great place to go if you prefer a livelier work environment. It's a social setting with indoor and outdoor seating and excellent food. The menu rotates seasonally. Brunch is served on the weekends and happy hour rocks from 4pm to 6 pm every weekday. Finish up your work and stay for a beer!

2. Drug Store Coffee at the Noelle Hotel

Food: Freshly-baked cookies and homemade pastries

Coffee: Definitely the pour over

Vibe: Great place to get some work done

WiFi: Yes

Don't let the name fool you – they're not serving drip coffee in Styrofoam cups. Located in what was previously the drug store counter, Drug Store Coffee is located at Noelle's, touted as a creative gathering place in downtown. You'll feel like you've gone back in time listening to their impressive vinyl collection.

If pour over isn't your thing, try one of their house-made seasonal syrups.

3. Crema Coffee in the heart of Nashville

Food: Conny and Jonny Donuts Friday through Sunday

Coffee: Espresso tonic. Yummy!

Vibe: Busy little place with a modern vibe

WiFi: Yes

Nationally awarded zero-waste and carbon neutral specialty coffee roasters! Crema Coffee is all about the environment. The company composts and recycles over 95% of all waste. That's impressive. And the coffee is just as impressive. They offer a few creative choices like the Spring Vacation—an espresso tonic sweetened with grapefruit-infused brown sugar syrup.

4. Humphreys Street on, well, Humphreys Street in Nashville

Coffee: Consistently tasty and served with gratitude and a smile

Vibe: Open and airy as it used to be a church—it's a great place to get some work done.

WiFi: Yes

Philanthropy is at the center for Humphreys where profits are reinvested into programs and scholarships for the students they hire. Humphreys gives students financial literacy training, creates jobs and provides mentoring opportunities.

They also serve a darn good cup of coffee!

5. Frothy Monkey at 12South, Downtown, The Nations and East Nashville

Food: Everything is AMAZING.

Coffee: Great specialty drinks

Vibe: Spread out and stay awhile!

WiFi: Yes

This list would not be complete without the Frothy Monkey. If you're looking for a spot to spread out and stay awhile, this is it. This coffee shop has a full farm-to-table menu where the artisan breads, bagels and pastries are made in house. If you're working late on Wednesdays, "wine" down.

The Frothy Monkey is known for their food, coffee and wine.

Nashville is known for its music which makes it a vacation destination. But what many don't know are all the hidden gems in and close to the center of town.
