I wrote my book because I did not have a road map and I am wanted other people to have a road map to do a career like I did. I'm dependent on other people to take photos. Believe me, no one likes to read blog posts about people who are smug about how they have solved all the problems of the world. It was a scary visit.

People at work do not say anything to me like, “Sorry you got dumped and seemed to have stopped working.” Ryan Paugh , our community manager, calls me to say that he thinks I need to start having someone look at what I post in the group before I post it. There is a shower in our building. Can you use a blog as a dating site?

We all must have faced some sort of bullying in our lives, and perhaps it is one of the most devastating and scarring experiences. People of color, the LGBTQ community, people with disabilities, women, and the underprivileged are most prone to bullying. People who love themselves, don’t hurt other people.

So I waited until a day when the farmer and I were holding hands, walking between rows of corn higher than our heads. It’s taken me months to tell people. I remember the principal telling us that the top 500 kids in our graduating class would go to colleges where most would be the valedictorians of their class. That’s not me.
