Through shifting to a ‘cultivation’ perspective, I was motivated to persist, formulate new ‘success indicators’, respect myself and the small gains I was making, and enjoy the process more. The parallels with my coaching work for executives and leaders became clear. This has been described as ‘the plateau of latent potential’.
