It’s ironic, because one of the most frequent questions I get from people is “what’s the best way to make a career change?” Anyway, I wouldn’t say redecorating is a career change, but maybe just a vocation vacation.

Is the most important thing to getting a good network? What is the key to this career path? Guy Kawasaki is focusing on writing books and speaks only in California unless it is for tons of money. So the whole evangelist thing I think might be a myth, not a career anyone wants to sustain when they have it.

It's easier to jump in (albeit perhaps at a lower level) after taking time off if you have more experience and a stronger network in your hip pocket. So you generalizing that grad school is not the way to go is totally wrong.
