Although careers work has been pretty beleaguered for the last decade, there was a sense that the new government might offer better things. I felt that there was a very positive atmosphere.

Yestersday, I had the opportunity to present to the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) in Wellington, New Zealand. The TEC is a Crown Agency which leads the Government’s relationship with the tertiary education sector in New Zealand and provides career services from education to employment.

But it is worth calling attention to the work of the Career Development Policy Group. This group is a coalition of careers sector organisations and stakeholders who campaign to influence policy. The main proposal that the group has made is called the Career Guidance Guarantee.
