I'm 51 and find it hard to do things like call doctors, or go to the bank, or make appts., Then get a GPS. stuff like that.

I've done a fair amount of reading on happiness, but when it comes down to doing the simple activities that various books suggest to increase your level of happiness (spend 10 minutes each night writing down what you're grateful for, for example), I can never motivate myself to do it. I couldn't have done any of those things as I had my first child when I was 19; there was no money for a diploma from Harvard and there weren't enough hours in my day for a job at an investment bank. My small town was motivating. They told us how smart we were and how we'd accomplish so much.
